Unfortunately another date change has been forced upon us because of extenuating circumstances.
The new date for the AGM is now Thursday November 1 and the time is 8pm.
The venue remains unchanged - the Clyde Room in the Water Sport Centre, Strathclyde Park.
The
club had a good showing at the Lanarkshire Road Relays in Drumpellier Park
today, where one of our women's teams took third place.
The trio of Jessie Miller, Jill Strachan and Jane Wedlock did enough over the 2.5-mile legs to force their way into the medals.
There was a good turn-out too from the club's young members, with MAC represented in a number of the junior categories.
Very well done to the MAC under-11 boys, who took bronze in their age group.
You can see more pictures from the afternoon here on flickr, including a group shot of the road runners which may be used in a 2008 calendar (no nudity please) being put together to raise money for club funds.
The calendar should be available for purchase at the prize-giving ceremony on November 23, priced at £4.
Scottish
Olympic gold medallist Allan Wells is to be Motherwell AC's guest-of-honour
at the club's prize-giving ceremony.
The track legend, who grabbed gold in the 1980 Moscow Olympics 100m final, will also take a coaching session at Wishaw the following morning, which will be open to all Track and Field members.
The prize-giving ceremony takes place at 7pm on Friday November 23 in St Bride's Hall, Motherwell.
It will include a question and answer session with Allan and later, a buffet. The evening is free of charge and is open to all members and guests.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be running an Allan Wells competition on the club's website with a great prize on offer from the specialist running shop, Run-4-It.
Watch the final
This was Alan Wells' greatest moment, the men's 100m final in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. He went head-to-head all the way with the Cuban, Silvio Leonard. They recorded the same time - 10.25 seconds and a photo-finish was required. Wells was the winner, prompting celebrations across Scotland! |

This is a longer piece of video, which includes all the build-up to the race. You'll also be able to see just how close a race it was and get a sense of the wait as the judges examined the photo-finish pictures. These were the days when slide-rules had to be used on the film to decide the winner!

Read more about the Moscow final here on the BBC's website and you can find more about Allan Wells - who is Scotland's only living Olympic track and field gold medallist - and his athletics career on Answers.com.
The In The Winning Zone website also has a great article in which Allan talks about his inspiration and approach to winning.
As well as the gold in the Moscow 100m final, he took silver in the 200m and went on to win gold and silver respectively in the same events at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.
Allan is committed to the development of young athletes in Scotland through his work with the Bank of Scotland (BoS) Specialist Spring Squad.
The date of the club's annual general meeting has been moved because it clashes with Halloween and Motherwell are at home to Rangers that night.
The new date is Tuesday October 30 and the time is 7pm. The venue is the Clyde Room in the Water Sport Centre, Strathclyde Park. There will be no road runners' session that night.
Please make every effort to attend the meeting. This is where the club's officials and committee for 2007/08 will be elected.
The following positions will be filled: Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Minute Secretary, Coaching representative, Track & Field representative, Road Runners' representative and up to six other members of the committee.
In the event of there being more than one properly nominated and seconded candidate for any post, a vote will have to take place.
For this reason, it would be extremely helpful to know in advance if you intend to stand for any of these positions.
The committee is particularly interested in getting more parents involved in the work of the club. Please email Mark Coyle if you plan to put yourself forward.
Just
like a fine wine, Donald McCaffer seems to get better with age - especially
after coming first in the "Vintage" category at the Stirling Duathlon.
Donald was 87th overall in the event, which is a run(5k)/bike(20k)/run(5k) and all this just short of his 60th birthday.
It wasn't without mishap for him though as Donald took a tumble at the start of the bike phase and still managed to finish smiling, according to Scott Marriott, who also competed.
Scott finished 70th overall and was 23rd in the veteran age group.
There's been some very positive coverage about the club in the local press in the past couple of weeks.
The Wishaw Press carried an article about Lewis Gibb on September 26 which drew on his dad Robert's sprinting career.
In the same edition, the Wishaw Press reported on the St Andrew's Hospice 10k and featured a picture of five club members.
The following day, the Motherwell Times carried a report on the race and featured pictures of MAC runners.
