Friday 3rd of May saw 15 of our Senior Endurance athletes journey through to Silverknowes Esplanade, Edinburgh to take part in the Sri Chinmoy 5k race.

The race which was this year’s National 5k Championship event, was also the fourth race in our club’s 2024 Road Running Championship.

The skies were clear on the night but a harsh wind coming from the north east, made for a tough start and finish in the double out and back race.

First MAC vest over the line was Jonathan Moore, who finished in a fantastic new personal best time of 15:09. Next was Michael Cushley, knocking a massive 15 seconds off his previous best in 19:03. Then we had Alan Main in an amazing 19:29.

First female for MAC was Maryann Milne, also smashing a new PB time with 20:52!! She was followed by Lilly Jeffrey in 22:18, just one second before Gillian McCaffer in 22:19 then quickly after was Peter Gallagher in 22:21. Next was Scott Dickson in 22:29, Colin Gardner in 23:14, and Stephen Pollock in 24:58.

Kelly Anne Shaw finished her first race in a MAC vest in 25:03, closely followed by Jac Molloy in 25:12. Gary Wood finished in 27:33, then Emma Main, who’s returning from injury finished in a brilliant 28:40.

Patricia Allen came second in her WV70 category finishing in a brilliant 33:53!!

Congratulations to all our athletes who took part!!! Great efforts all round!!!
