A reminder to all members and parents, the Club AGM is being held this Thursday, 22 October, at 8.15pm in the Clyde Room at the Watersports Centre, Strathclyde Park. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage your attendance. We need people to step up and get involved in the running and operations of the club, no matter how small the contribution may be. We want to see even more integration between the road and track and field sections of the club and build on the many positive contributions already being made.
Whether you have professional skills, a desire to help during the year, or even get involved in coaching, we need you!! We have a small but dedicated group currently who do so much for the club however we would like to have more people doing less. We will be establishing a new club development plan in 2016 to follow up on the questionnaire which was available to members in the summer. (Some!) of the varied roles we need help with are as follows:
Social event organisers
Links for local schools
Social media assistant
Female track and field welfare officer
There are many roles and all the above and more need help from within our membership. Everyone on the committee and coaching team, do so as volunteers, so we really do need your help. The more help we have, the less people will be asked to do.
It would be appreciated if you could attend the AGM and offer some help. All roles on the committee are open for nomination and whilst some members are willing to stand for re-election, fresh ideas and new people will always be welcome. The AGM is historically attended by road runners however we welcome all members and parents. This is a chance for you to come along, ask questions and hear what the club is doing.
Training and support will be available for anyone who is able to volunteer some time, and your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please remember, this is your club, and it doesn’t run itself.
To discuss getting involved, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07979 149782
I hope to see at the AGM this week.
