Allan Scally Memorial Road Relay
What is it?
The Allan Scally Road Relay is a long-standing event on the Scottish athletics calendar. Indeed, the event to be held on Saturday 5th March will be the 51st! The format is 4 x 5k on a accurately measured, traffic-free course in Glasgow Green. When this event was first suggested to members back in October, interest levels were high. So it is hoped that MAC can enter teams in both the female and male categories. For more details, see https://www.entrycentral.com/AllanScallyRoadRace
Who is eligible?
Current members of Motherwell AC.
Am I good enough?
If you can run 5k, you are good enough. The aim here is to have as many MAC vests on show as possible. No-one should rule themselves out because they perceive themselves to be ‘too slow’ for such an event.
How much does it cost?
Each team costs £32 to enter, so that works out at £8 for each runner.
How do I enter?
If four club-mates want to form a team and run together, that is absolutely fine. One of the team members should let Alan Strang (alanstrang@motherwellac.com) know the names of the runners, and to arrange payment of the £32 team fee. Alternatively, the team can enter themselves directly, but please do still let Alan Strang know who the runners will be.
If you are happy to be placed in any team, let Alan Strang (alanstrang@motherwellac.com) know you wish to enter and to arrange payment of the £8 individual fee. Teams will then be entered and formed from these entrants.
The club closing date for entries will be Monday 28th February.
