Notice of AGM and Proposed Change to Constitution

In accordance with the constitution of Motherwell Athletics Club, the Annual General Meeting of the club will be held on Thursday 26th October 2017 at 8.15pm, in the College Lecture Room at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

All members and parents are invited and will be very welcome.  It is important that we have as many members and parents in attendance as possible to hear what the club has been doing over the course of the year and to show support for the development of the club.  We would especially encourage more members and parents from the Track and Field section to attend the meeting which usually lasts no more than an hour.  Members aged 15 and over are eligible to vote.

We are keen to recruit new members to the Committee both in terms of Office Bearers and in general roles and we are keen to hear from you either before the meeting or on the evening itself.

Specifically, the roles of Chair and Secretary require to be filled at this meeting as both positions become vacant.

In addition, a change to the Club Constitution is proposed by the Chair.  The proposal is to amend the word “Chairman” to “Chair” to recognise equality guidelines.  It is hoped that a separate meeting is not required to make this change however if required, this will be held immediately after the Annual General Meeting.  Any objections to this proposal may be submitted at any time up until or during the meeting.

In the meantime, this announcement is to provide notice of the AGM and to invite any motions for discussion or decision.  Motions to be discussed must be submitted in writing to the Chair no later than Thursday 19th October 2017.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM. If you wish to submit apologies in advance,or propose a motion for discussion. please contact
