Sport has been issued with some updated travel guidance following further conversations between the Scottish Government and sportscotland. We appreciate any changes to the travel guidance can cause significant disruption and frustration so we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
The changes, which are effective immediately, are as follows:
- Participants of all ages living in a Level 4 area should only travel within that local authority area for organised athletics activity.
- Participants aged 18 years and over living in a Level 3 area should only travel within that local authority area for organised athletics activity.
- Participants in Level 3 and Level 4 can travel to a place up to 5 miles outside their local authority to take part in informal exercise (household rules apply) as long as the exercise starts and finishes at the same place.
This means that adults living in a Level 3 or 4 area, and under 18’s in a Level 4 area, can no longer travel 5 miles from their local authority boundary to participate in organised athletics activity.
