Two Motherwell AC members took on the ultimate challenge at the Manchester Marathon.  Did they deliver?  Oh yes!

Since joining MAC, Jonathan Moore has established himself as one of the club’s fastest ever runners; equalling the all-time TT record earlier this month, for example.  So the whole club was intrigued to see what he would achieve on his marathon debut. A quite remarkable 2:37:24 was the answer!  To achieve such a time on his first attempt is incredible and the mind boggles what he might yet achieve.

Scott Kelman, meanwhile, knocked 12 minutes off his PB, finishing in an amazing 3:14:04.  It would have been faster still if not for a bad stitch and then cramp right at the end.  Credit to Scott for keeping on going and still beating his target.  What makes this result all the more special and meaningful is this was Scott’s final race in the MAC vest.  What better way to leave a club than on such an impressive high note!

Congratulations to both Jonathan and Scott, you have done MAC proud!
