We held the March Trial, the first competitive one of the season, on a cold, wet and windy night at Strathclyde Park. That said we still had a really good turnout of 31 athletes taking part in the 4 mile handicap race.
Congratulations go to Allan Cameron who won the men’s race in an excellent time of 22:06, and Susan Stewart won the women’s race in a PB of 27:59. Peter Blackmore picked up the wooden spoon in an unremarkable time that would be easily forgotten. Thanks to everyone who made it down to compete this evening.
Thanks to tonight’s helpers too – Jim Tracey and John Burns who were on torch duty at the underpass, Anne Hughes for starting the race and timing the finishers, Brian McLinden for stepping in to the breach and ensuring we got the names of every finisher in the correct order, and Lynsey Sneddon for videoing the finish to back up the manual process.
