The club has two sections to it – Track and Field (T&F) and Senior Endurance (SE).
Please see the following pages for more details about each section, including training dates, times and locations.
Before applying for membership you should have investigated the benefits, privileges and obligations of joining MAC. The club insists on a certain standard of discipline from its members and in applying for membership you are committing to comply with this. MAC has the right to expel members whose conduct is unacceptable.
Please acquaint yourself with the various documents displayed on the POLICIES page particulary the constitution and codes of conduct.
All members also pay a monthly subscription of £5 by Direct Debit, and Track and Field members pay an additional monthly fee to cover venue track hire costs.
If you are already a member of another athletics club then that is your first-claim club. If you subsequently join a second club, that is your second claim club.
Second claim members are welcome to train with MAC and take part in club social events. However, only first claim members qualify for points/places in internal club competitions or may compete in open competitions on behalf of MAC (unless by prior agreement of the management of both clubs and the event organisers). First claim members will always have priority in team selection. If you want to change your first claim club to be MAC, please complete this form and return to Scottish Athletics.
There is a discount for family membership in which all athletes must be first claim members, as follow;
First member – Full Cost
Second and Third members – 25% Discount
Fourth and subsequent members – Free
A family membership must include at least one child under 18 years of age, and all members reside together.
Please contact the treasurer for more information.
At the Annual General Meeting (and other MAC meetings), only fully paid-up first claim members of 16 years and older are eligible to vote.
The club is a full member of Scottish Athletics and we have many members who have progressed from local Jog Scotland groups into Motherwell AC.
Everyone gets access to training sessions and club social events. Senior members can join training runs in scenic parts of Lanarkshire and occasionally beyond. MAC competes in various events in different parts of Scotland, some of which involve subsidised travel.
In addition to the above, membership of Motherwell AC gives members access to discounts at sport shops, physios and more.
