Friday 7th June saw a bus load of our athletes and supporters head to the Southside of Glasgow as we returned to take on the Brian Goodwin 10k for the 4th race of our 2024 Road Running Championship

Well done to John, Iain, Michael, Anthony, Gayle, Catherine, David, Lilly, Graeme, Nicola, Gillian, Julie, Ross, Maryann, Jac, Jonathan, Emma, Angela, Julia, Stevie, Daryl, Kelly Anne, Jim and Gary who all ran.

Unfortunately we had a few miss running due to injuries but it was great to see them come along to support, along with some more of our team mates, families and friends.

The weather was great, a slight breeze in places but dry and not too warm so conditions were perfect for racing.

A 2 lap loop taking in Pollok Park and out onto nearby closed roads, the course is relatively flat with one small climb in the middle. Arranged by Bellahouston Harriers, this race is extremely well set up with many supportive marshals on the course, and a fantastic welcome back at the Cartha rugby club awaits after the finish with a burger and beer, and socks supplied by our kit provider- the race sponsor Migo Sports.

Onto results…

First over the line for MAC was Jonathan Moore who finished 7th overall in a new Personal Best time of 31:32.

Senior Endurance Captain Emma Morris was our first female finisher in 41:53

Personal bests were also ran by Daryl Rea, Catherine Harvey, Maryann Milne, Lilly Jeffrey and Nicola McKenzie.

Well done everyone!!!!

Our next Championship race is the Calderglen 5k on Friday 28th June.
